Motion Capture Workshop

Hands-on workshops for actors and performers wanting to learn the art of mocap performance

Dreamr offers a 2-day intensive workshop tailored towards actors looking for a foundation-level of experience in mocap.

The course is designed to equip you with the confidence and experience to audition for mocap roles, learn new skills and to have lots of fun in the process!

The workshop covers:

Full performance capture experience (body + finger + face)
Multiple sessions for each actor in mocap suits
Fun, hands-on experimentation with digital avatars
Small class sizes with an emphasis on collaboration
Learn mocap performance techniques for different media
Gain a practical understanding of the calibration process
Access to your raw CGI recordings as well as behind the scenes footage to use in your reel

The course is hosted by Pete Short, founder of Dreamr Studios, in conjunction with Matt Hermans from Electric Lens Co. Combined the team have over 20 years experience in motion capture, animation, film and visual effects. Their work has been celebrated around the world at prestigious Venice Film Festival, Tribeca, Toronto, Raindance and many more.

Courses are scheduled to run over two consecutive Mondays and you are welcome to apply by yourself or with others.

Terms & Conditions

Successful applicants will be informed via email. Applicants must respond to that email to secure their spot
All fees must be paid at least one week prior to the commencement of the workshop
Refunds will only be issued if the participant gives two weeks notice prior to the first class
Classes are scheduled to run over two consecutive Mondays however are subject to change. If a change is required, Dreamr will notify the participants with as much notice as possible. If participants can not make the new date, they will be given an opportunity to request a refund or to reschedule
Footage captured during the workshops will be made available for participants to use for their showreels and sharing on social media
Dreamr Studios will retain ownership of any content capture during the workshops and applicants provide consent for this content to be used for marketing and promotional purposes
